8th Grade honors english

January 23rd, 2025

Mrs. Brand '11 and the 8th Grade Honors English & Reading students crossed over to the other side of Wick Road today. For most of them it felt like a lifetime since they entered the K-3rd grade classrooms, while Mrs. Jones had different feelings "I can't believe how fast they grow, I remember many of them starting right here in 1st grade!"

After kicking off their poetry unit with a study of children's stories, the 8th Grade Honors English & Reading class split off into groups and were tasked with brainstorming, planning, writing, and illustrating their own original children's stories. Their project concluded with a trip across the street to share their stories with some of our CGS students. Mrs. Brand could not have been more thrilled with the outcome, mentioning how "Each group did a fantastic job presenting their final stories to the K-3rd grade classrooms today!"

Over half of the 8th Grade Honors English & Reading students have been a part of the Cabrini family since they started their educational journeys 8 years ago! With the exception of maybe PTG pizza Fridays, there is nothing our little Monarchs look forward to more than having the big Monarchs come over to share in our culture with them.

It's a great day to be a Monarch!
